Bio

Gustavo D. “Gus” Elizondo, III was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas and is the grandson of Judge Reynaldo G. Garza—the first Mexican-American federal judge in United States history. Beginning his legal career as a state prosecutor in the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office where worked as a prosecutor, he learned important strategies that would help him protect criminal defendants later in his career.

In 2016, Mr. Elizondo opened a private practice with his cousin, Reynaldo (Trey) Garza. While there, he helped his clients with matters involving civil litigation, family law, criminal defense, personal injury, and family law.

Since that time, he opened a solo practice—Gustavo D. Elizondo III, Attorney at Law. His practice now consists of criminal defense and family law.
